Windrose Studio
When the chores are done, the ranch changes key. Music matters in this family: Rebecca has a
degree in piano, two of the kids play violin, one plays viola, one plays drums and bass — and on
any given evening you might hear Mozart or Morgan Wallen coming from the front room. Windrose
Studio is how we share that: piano, violin, and early-childhood music for children from across
the valley — patient, joyful, old-fashioned lessons in a working-farm setting.
The teachers
Rebecca McNeill
Piano · early-childhood music · dance
Rebecca has been sharing her love for music and dance for thirty years, teaching everyone
from little ones to grown-ups — and she still saves stickers for a well-played
phrase. With degrees in both Music and Dance from Belhaven University and her Grade 10 RCM
certification, she brings decades of expertise to every lesson, balanced alongside
homeschooling the children and running the family farm. She is also an
instructor
with Music for Young Children —
one of the world's premier early music-education programs — and teaches MYC group classes at
the Mara Hall.

Owen McNeill
Violin
Owen grew up between the hayfield and the practice stand — now he starts young fiddlers and
classical players on their own path. Suzuki-friendly, kind to squeaky beginnings, and living
proof that scales and swathing can share a summer. He played with the Okanagan Youth Symphony
Orchestra for years, and has composed two symphonies of his own — both performed by the
Okanagan Symphony Orchestra.
